Dr. Nida Ahmed, BDS, MDS

Internationally Trained Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr. Nida Ahmed is an internationally trained Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with over five years of clinical, academic, teaching, and research experience in India. She has experience in dentoalveolar surgery, oral surgical procedures, patient-centered care, clinical education, and evidence-based research.

She completed her Master of Dental Surgery in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Bachelor of Dental Surgery from institutions affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, India.

Dr. Ahmed served as a Senior Lecturer and was later promoted to Reader, an Associate Professor equivalent position, in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Sri Rajiv Gandhi College of Dental Sciences and Hospital. In this role, she taught undergraduate dental students, supervised clinical training, assisted in postgraduate surgical cases, managed outpatient oral surgery clinics, and participated in academic and clinical discussions.

Alongside her academic role, she worked as a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon across multiple private dental practices in Bengaluru, collaborating with general dentists and specialists to support comprehensive patient care.

Currently based in California, Dr. Ahmed is preparing for the Integrated National Board Dental Examination and pursuing admission to CODA-accredited advanced standing dental programs in the United States. She is also seeking U.S. dental shadowing opportunities to gain firsthand exposure to clinical workflows, patient communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and private practice operations.

Areas of Clinical Experience

Dr. Ahmed’s clinical experience includes surgical and routine dental extractions, impacted third molar surgery, dental implant placement, sinus lift procedures, cyst enucleation, oral biopsies, incision and drainage procedures, pre-prosthetic surgical procedures, maxillofacial trauma management, diagnosis and treatment planning, patient education, postoperative care, and interdisciplinary treatment coordination.
